The Broad-bordered White Underwing (''Hadula melanopa'') is a moth of the Noctuidae family. Subspecies ''melanopa'' is found in northern Scandinavia. Subspecies ''rupestralis'' is found in the Alps, the Balkan mountains and the Apennine Mountains. Subspecies ''brunnea'' is found in mountainous areas of Great Britain and ssp. ''koizumidakeana'' in Japan. The wingspan of subspecies ''melanopa'' is 20–26 mm, ssp. ''brunnea'' has a wingspan of 25–29 mm. Adults are on wing from June to August in one generation.
